I have a 2000 dodge or plymouth breeze?

the multi function arm is broken. that is the arm that turns the blinkers and lights on and off. it is just hanging and the wires are connected but when i try to even turn the light switch on they do not come on. i thought that they would at least work or sould that stop it.. i checked the fuses and didn%26#039;t find one blowed. it costs 100 for the arm, not sure of installation. don%26#039;t think i can do it myself because of the airbag.

should i check anything else because i really am not ready to spend the money to get it fixed... don%26#039;t really go out after dark and if i have to use the blinker i can just push the arm in the hole and blink a little....

if you are willing to try then buy yourself a Haynes repair manual for your car. With thier pictures and step by step instructions you can do it.

There should be plenty of those arms in junkyards. Even at a shitty, overpriced junk yard like the one here, it shouldn%26#039;t cost you more than about 25 bucks.

Look up how to disable the air bag. Once it%26#039;s disabled (or once it%26#039;s been triggered) air bags are quite easy to remove. And apart from that, removing or installing things from a steering column USUALLY isn%26#039;t hard. (Sometimes they use odd fasteners, though, and extreme measures may need to be taken. For example, I had to cut a groove into a bolt head once to get something off a Miata steering column.)

I%26#039;m not going to thumbs up or down that other comment...because while Haynes manuals DO suck (as do Chiltons%26#039;), they are still better than nothing.
Reply:Before you do anything, disconnect the battery from the car so that your airbags won%26#039;t deploy accidentally.
Reply:if you,ll disconnect the battery cable and get a good repair manual you can replace that arm ,any salvage yard will sell you one for about 25 bucks ready to install, they aren%26#039;t bad to install, but you need a manual to give you step by step instructions on doing this,it will also help you on other projects for that car,it needs to be replaced though, its not as hard as it looks to replace, good luck.
