i would think any local garage could fix for you we run a shop in FLA and fix everything from weedwhips to hellicopters

Ive got a mk1 renault laguna and the fan on the heater only comes on when its on number 4. is this normal.?
if not how do i fix it and also when i switch my air con on the light comes on but nothing happens. any ideas

its a common fault with the dial controles themselves..a replacement from a brakers is nedded...dont buy new.

It will be the resister, fitted in the airflow between intake and motor,(with at least 4 wires to it) burnt out due to partially seized motor... the air-con will need to be checked, repaired and recharged by a dealer or specialist..

Your aircon won%26#039;t work unless the fan%26#039;s on and there%26#039;s refridgerant in the system: most garages can check %26amp; refill nowadays, so could be linked: If it%26#039;s the climate control model, both problems could be due to something more complicated - a garage job.

On my car they were found just behind the glove box practically on top of the fan a new one will cost somewhere in the region of 30-40 quid a reconditioned one will be a lot less off eBay. As for the air con you may find that it needs recharging but it%26#039;s hardly worth the price most garages charge for it. Plus there may well be a leak in the system %26amp; if that%26#039;s the case you will have to get that fixed first.

HI, I am trying to build a 393 - 408 cleveland stroker. I have forged diamond flat top pistons with a compression height of 2.265 and .030 bore. Have crank ground to take chev rods. Can you help me on the length of the H-beam rods needed. Would this be 6.0%26quot; Or 6.2%26quot; useing 4V close chambered heads and a Inlet valve lift of .578%26quot; exaust of .590%26quot; and an average duration of .315 degres.
Hope this is not over the top, any help would be appreciated.

What you need is alot of more info. You need to know the stroke, deck height, desired compression ratio, what is the cc%26#039;s of the head, need to know the cc%26#039;s of the piston. You need all these exact measurements to get the right rod length.
Rods will not give you cubic inches only bore and stroke does. The formula for figuring out ci is
stroke X bore X bore X .7854 X # of cylinders = displacement
As you can see rod length is not a factor in this equation.

here%26#039;s a Scat 408C kit, it uses a 6 inch rod.. The biggest thing about what rod to use would be where the pin is. Couldn%26#039;t find a 393C kit at Summit.

remember,all the electronics,including the pcm, would have to be changed also.what%26#039;s wrong with the 350? ihave a 4.3 in my %26#039;96 chevy short bed,and have no plans to switch engines.unless you just want a fresh 350,i have no good suggestions. good luck.

Reply:The good thinig about chevy, they offer bolt ups to the frame, for every size engine they make. You can easily move up to the 6.0 liter 364 , and even the 7.0 liter 427 and also, the big daddy engine 7.4 liter 454... Should slide right in.
